DIEGO TARABAL
Born in Brazil and raised in Uruguay, Diego graduated from the MFA Menswear course at University of Westminster in London. Reminisces and celebrates gay culture of the 70s and 80s decade. He is inspired by the “clone look”, where gay men took traditional masculinity and made it their own to secretly find each other.
Relying in materials like denim, leather and jerseys – references ‘dresscodes’ that have become so characteristic within the gay communities, and of Tarabal’s aesthetic. Fetishizing hypermasculine stereotypes, creating a universe where people can relate to a deeper message of love, inclusivity, emotion and acceptance. Playing with kink and glamour, looking tough and approachable.
